Sweden closes its investigation into the Russian Nord Stream pipeline bombings. A series of underwater explosions occurred on September 26, 2022, sabotaging the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines to transport natural gas from Russia to Western Europe.

Investigations into the bombings were opened in three European countries: Germany, Denmark and Sweden, which announced today the closure of their investigations into the incident. Russia protested that the investigations did not reach any results, and the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the three countries of deliberately delaying the investigation and trying to hide who was behind the bombings.
