The Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy has received as much rain as normally falls in six months. More than 200 landslides have been recorded and local authorities have issued new warnings as rain continues to fall.

36 000 people have so far been forced to leave their homes and 14 people have died in what has been described as the worst floods Italy has seen in over a century. "It's a devastation that's hard to take in," says SVT correspondent Jennifer Wegerup.
