Underwater drone “Surrogat-V” being developed in the Russian Federation. It will be able to perform functions of organizing communications and searching for targets instead of submarines.
Analysts say such uncrewed, autonomous ships will be the future of the fleet. The device is a further development of the Surrogat submarine simulator of the same name, which the Central Design Bureau presented in 2021. It was noted that, using acoustics, a drone can imitate a “portrait” of a submarine to deceive the enemy.
