A military source in Sudan's army said the army had regained control of some areas it withdrew from Tuesday in central Khartoum. The Sudan Medical Syndicate said 822 civilians had been killed since the clashes began.

The US State Department said Ambassador John Godfrey remains in Jeddah to support talks between the RSF and the Sudanese military on a ceasefire and humanitarian arrangements. An informed Sudanese diplomatic source told Al Jazeera that negotiations between the two sides of the fighting - which came with US-Saudi mediation - are still continuing.
