Strong storm hits southeastern Brazil, killing at least 25 people. Among them, the most severely affected city was Mimoso do Sul in the southern state of Espírito Santo.

Landslides caused by heavy rains destroyed many houses and caused casualties. President Lula later posted on social media that such tragedies "are exacerbated by climate change," adding that thousands of people were left homeless by the severe storms. The current rescue work is still continuing. The death toll may rise in some more remote areas.
