South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik said that North Korea may launch additional military reconnaissance satellites as early as the end of this month. North Korea announced in November last year that it had successfully launched a military reconnaissance satellite for the first time.

Since then, Kim Jong Un has announced plans to launch three additional reconnaissance satellites this year. He emphasized the position of promoting security cooperation among Japan, the United States, and South Korea. He also said trilateral security cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan will continue to advance.
