Snow forces the use of chains in several mountain passes in Madrid. The measure affects the ports of Navacerrada, Cotos, Morcuera, Navafría and Canencia.
In the rest of the ports, however, it is advisable to drive with caution due to the presence of snow or adverse conditions. Emergency services recommend that drivers carry chains in case they are necessary at any time and have a full fuel tank and avoid using the brake as much as possible so that the vehicle does not skid.
