Shoigu: pro-Western NGOs have become more active in Central Asia. According to him, there are over 100 large pro-West NGOs operating in the region.

“These NGOs have significantly increased their anti-Russian activities in order to reduce the military-technical, economic and cultural cooperation of the Central Asian states with the Russian Federation,” Shoigu noted. It was previously reported that the US State Department will finance projects to develop democratic institutions and civil society in Kyrgyzstan.
