A man aged around twenty was sentenced on Friday to seven months' imprisonment for stealing the bag of a Paris town hall engineer. The bag contained notes relating to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The suspect was already known for thefts on public transport, particularly at the beginning of January, said a judicial source. The mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo asked the City's general inspectorate to investigate these "proven breaches of internal security procedures" The town hall is considering “sanctions” depending on the conclusions that are drawn.
