Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act came into force on April 1. It criminalizes acts based on age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or trans identity.
Opponents of the law complain that it could lead to a flood of advertisements. Harry Potter author JK Rowling is particularly critical of one point of the new law.
