Sébastian Lecornu is the head of the French armed forces. He is also the leader of the Republican Party (R) in the French parliament.
The two have worked together since the 1980s, when they were both in the army. LecORNU is expected to win the vote on a new budget for the armed forces on Wednesday. The vote will be the first in a series of votes to be held in the new parliament, which will be known as the Fifth Republic.
