In Rwanda, the president made a total of half a dozen changes to the army on June 5, 2023, and the appointment of a new Minister of Defense, Juvenal Marizamunda. Jean Bosco Kazura is no longer Chief of the Defence Staff.
He was replaced by Mubarakh Muganga, a lieutenant-general who has served in the army for more than 30 years. These changes come in a context of persistent tensions with the DRC. It should also be noted that it was partly formed in China, Egypt and Kenya.
