Russian military launches large-scale attack in Kiv, killing 5 civilians and injuring 48 others. The attack damaged an apartment complex in the capital, Kyiv, and caused power outages in some areas.

Meanwhile, the New York Times, a leading American newspaper, reported on the 6th, citing intelligence officials from an American ally, that Russia may have unfrozen North Korean financial assets that had previously been frozen with Western partners. This appears to be a quid pro quo measure to acquire missiles and ammunition from North Korea, and specifically, North Korea allowed the release of $9 million of North Korea's $30 million in frozen assets held in Russian financial institutions.
