UN Security Council held an open debate on "safeguarding the UN Charter and multilateralism" Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov presided over the meeting. Lavrov said that the current international system with the United Nations as the core is experiencing a deep crisis.
He said that a small number of Western countries have no right to speak on behalf of all mankind. He also called for reform of the UN Security Council to increase the representation of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The United States and its allies are "blacklisting" anyone who opposes them, he said.
