[HIGHLIGHTS] Russia announces that a Ukrainian attempt to sabotage two nuclear plants has been thwarted, and the United States hopes to start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets

Moscow said it had foiled an attempt by Ukrainian intelligence to sabotage two nuclear plants. The United States said it hoped Ukrainian pilots could begin training on F-16 fighter jets within weeks.

Russian forces launched 36 Iranian-made attack drones, all of which were shot down, the Ukrainian air force said. The Ukrainian military said that Russian forces had fired about 80 artillery shells at 16 regions and towns in the southern part of the country. The Russian Defense Minister said that more than 70 of what he described as Ukrainian nationalists had infiltrated into the region.
