Rugby star Mohamed Haouas is in custody in Montpellier. The 29-year-old is accused of kicking his wife in the face.

He faces up to three years in jail if found guilty of the charge. He is a member of the XV of the Rugby World Cup, which will be held in France in 2023. The match will be the first time the World Cup has been held in the French capital since 1986. The World Cup will take place in France from September to October.
