Rosselkhoznadzor will continue to monitor aquatic biological resources from areas transboundary with Japan that pose a threat to the health of Russian consumers. It is also carrying out work to introduce into the work of the Service a methodology for measuring the volumetric (specific) activity of tritium in environmental objects.
On February 7, it became known that a leak of radioactive water was recorded at the Japanese Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. It is clarified that most of the water was most likely absorbed into the soil.
