30 members of the NATO-led international peacekeeping force were injured in clashes in northern Kosovo. NATO commander in Italy has ordered a reduction in the readiness period for the international force to be deployed to the region.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called on the West to stop blaming the Serb minority for the violence in the north of the country. He said the violence was threatening the stability of the region, and called for the withdrawal of all Serb forces from the north. He also called on NATO to stop sending troops to the area.
