Only 20% of taxi companies said they would consider entering the ride-sharing industry. Digital Minister Kono said they will consider responses while monitoring the operational status from April.. The government announced on the 29th that ``ride sharing'', in which ordinary drivers use private cars to transport people for a fee, will be introduced from April this year in limited areas under the management of taxi firms.
