Swiss researchers set fire to an electric car battery in an underground garage. The results of the tests were published in 2020.

The experiment was conducted in the town of VersuchsStollen Hagerbach. One of the conclusions was that a good and state-of-the-art ventilation system is capable of handling not only diesel and petrol cars, but also electric cars. In contrast, electric vehicle fires with lithium-ion batteries lead to new types of polluted emissions, according to the researchers.
