Russian UN mission distributed to the Security Council a draft statement condemning the Israeli raid on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Washington confirmed that it had no knowledge of the raid, amid fears of retaliatory attacks.
13 people, including two Iranian officers and 5 military advisors in the Revolutionary Guard, were killed in the attack. Since last October 7, Israel has repeatedly targeted Iranian military leaders and advisors, leading to the killing of at least 11 Iranian military leader and advisors. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d'Affairs of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, considering it a sponsor of American interests in Iran.
