The former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg has been returned to state ownership.
The plant was transferred to AvtoVAZ last year. In November 2023, the president and general director of Av toVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said the plant would be fully operational in 2024. Last June it was reported that Avto VAZ had launched production of Lada cars at the former Nissan Plant in St Petersburg. The St Petersburg enterprise is now an independent factory unit, according to Dmitry Kostromin.
