Ramadan atmosphere dominates local elections in Turkey. More than 61 million Turkish voters have flocked to the ballot boxes, to choose who will manage their local affairs.

According to Al Jazeera Net's field observations, the final hours of the elections are witnessing a wide turnout in light of the atmosphere of the twenty-first day of the holy month of Ramadan. Before the local elections, Turkish political parties were interested in participating in Ramadan activities as part of their campaigns. Turkish journalist and political researcher Kazem Kazimov says that the coincidence of elections with Ramadan will remain an occasion that increases the importance.
