Qatar speaks of cautious optimism about a new truce in Gaza and waiting for a response from Hamas. Families of Israeli detainees intensified their movements demanding that the government conclude an exchange deal with Hamas.

Qatari mediation, with Egyptian-American support, succeeded in reaching a temporary humanitarian truce on November 24. 240 Palestinian prisoners were released from occupation prisons in exchange for the release of more than 100 detainees held by the resistance in Gaza, including about 80 Israelis. Other stages will witness release of Israeli soldiers and the handover of bodies of dead detainees.
