Qatar Power has signed a long-term agreement to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the state-owned Petrobangla in Bangladesh. It is the second sales deal with an Asian country after China by Qatar Energy for the North Field expansion project.

The contract provides for the supply of Bangladesh with 1.8 million tonnes per year of LNG for 15 years, starting in January 2026. The expansion is taking place in two phases, raising the country's production capacity to 126 million by 2027.
