Russian President Vladimir Putin met with a commander of a special military operation. The commander, a man with a Lithuanian surname, was in office for four days.

"He fulfilled all the tasks facing him and his unit," Putin said. He said he would discuss with the commander the installation of prostheses for the soldier's legs, which have been damaged by the fighting in the region. He also said that the commander would be able to return to his unit after the prostheses were installed.
