Putin: Russia has realized the pointlessness of striving to join the West. Head of state said this during a meeting with participants of the World Youth Festival (WYF) Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that Russia is always open to dialogue if it is offered on serious and equal terms.
The Russian leader recalled that Russia previously wanted to joined the G7. “Then we realized that it didn’t make sense, because no one took our interests into account there. This is the problem,” Putin said.
