Senegalese authorities still have an official death toll of 16 during the demonstrations that followed the conviction of Ousmane Sonko. Amnesty International has claimed since Thursday that 23 people were killed.

It is in this context that began Friday morning, June 9 at the Palace of Justice of Dakar the first appearances of people arrested during the protests. This Friday, it is mainly minors who went before the judge and were all exonerated. Other minors will be tried next Friday in Dakar.
