Presidential election in Senegal: candidate Habib Sy withdraws in favor of Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The number of candidates therefore goes from 18 to 17.
The much-courted Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) has not yet decided whether it supports a candidate or not. The PDS candidate Karim Wade was disqualified from the presidential race on Wednesday. The first round of the presidential election will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2024, with a second round on March 16, 2024.
