Preliminary results show Basilou Diomaye Faye wins Senegalese presidential election. Faye won the presidential election with 54.28% of the votes.
If elected, the 44-year-old Faye will become the youngest president in Senegal’s history. The term of the President of Senegal was originally 7 years, renewable for one term. The presidential term elected in 2019 was changed to 5 years. The final results will be announced in the next few days.
