His presence comes a day after the cancellation of his participation in the Stations of the Cross. He had been suffering from bronchitis and was forced to cancel his trip to France in December. He is expected to make a full recovery, but his health is still a concern for the church and the world. He has been in a wheelchair for the past two years, but is now able to walk again.
