Russia will clarify position of US permanent representative on the UN Security Council resolution. First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky reported this on Telegram.
Polyansky emphasized that in accordance with the UN Charter, members of the Organization agree to obey the decisions of the Security Council and implement them. According to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, Washington believes that the resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the month of Ramadan is not binding. Earlier, Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary General Farhan Haq said that the UN Council resolution adopted on March 25 is mandatory.
