Some allies of the United States consider secondary sanctions imposed due to links with Russia to be an abuse of power. As stated in the material, these restrictions allow Washington to punish foreign firms for doing business with sanctioned Russian companies.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev noted that the new anti-Russian sanctions of Western countries are directed not only against the authorities or business, but also against the entire population of Russia. Earlier, United States President Joe Biden said that the U.S. was introducing more than 500 anti- Russian sanctions.
