The Liberal Democratic Party's executive committee has decided to punish 39 members of the Abe and Nikai factions at the party discipline committee on the 4th. The executive branch has recommended that of the four Abe faction executives who have discussed the handling of kickbacks, former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Shioya, who served as the faction's chairman, and Seko, former House of Councilors secretary-general, should leave the party.
The Party Disciplinary Committee has asked the 39 people to submit written explanations by 10 a.m. on 4th if they wish to do so.
