Protesters took to the streets to mark the 25th anniversary of the so-called Good Friday Agreement. Police officers were attacked with petrol bombs, according to local authorities.

The peace agreement marked the beginning of the end of the period of violence known as "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland. More than 3,700 people were killed during the 30-year period when the fighting was at its worst in 1972-1974, when the agreement was reached. The wounds from the Troubles are hard to heal, but anything is better than the violence.
