On Saturday, in order to protect its own farmers, Poland decided to ban imports of cereals and other agricultural products from Ukraine. Ukrainian grain destined for foreign countries has been transiting through the European Union since the export route via the Black Sea was blocked by the Russian invasion.

But due to logistical problems, grain stocks are piling up in Poland, causing local prices to plummet, leading to farmers' protests and the resignation of Poland's agriculture minister. "We remain, without the slightest change, friends and allies of Ukraine," ruling party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski said.
