1.3 million Parisian voters are called to the polls this Sunday. The Paris town hall organized a vote which proposed tripling parking rates for so-called SUV cars in the capital.
“The bigger it is, the more it pollutes”, according to PS mayor Anne Hidalgo. Motorist associations criticize the initiative, calling it 'amateurish' and'manipulated' by the city. The measure would not affect Parisian residents, but only visitors.
