In Pakistan, former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested on Tuesday, May 9, while he was at the High Court of Islamabad. Mr Khan was due to appear in connection with a corruption case.

He has been grappling with the law in 85 different cases since he was ousted from power by a no-confidence motion a year ago. The helmeted rangers, in bullet-by-wale vests, riot shields and sticks in hand, pushed him inside a car and left to boos from supporters of the former prime minister.
