Pope Francis has sent a telegram of condolences to the archbishop of Bologna. Ferrara's Formula 1 race is cancelled but Bruce Springsteen's concert will go on as planned. The mayor of Ferrara defended allowing the concert to go ahead on Facebook, saying he did not ask for it to be cancelled as he was on the front lines of the 2012 earthquake.
