Ousmane Sonko was appointed Prime Minister of Senegal on Tuesday. He was one of the main faces of the opposition to President Macky Sall.

Sonko became a key part of the election of Bassirou Diomaye Faye as president of Senegal. In February, he was accused of rape and death threats by Adji Sarr, an employee of a beauty salon. His arrest provoked violent clashes between his supporters and the police. The West African country is under judicial supervision for its stability.
