Hideyuki Yokoyama, a former member of the Osaka Prefectural Assembly, secured his first election. He is the incumbent mayor of an ordinance-designated city and the youngest mayor.

He called for free childcare for children aged 3 to 5, and for the removal of income restrictions by subsidizing children's cram school fees. The 41-year-old from Kagawa Prefecture is a former employee of Osaka Prefecture, he was first elected to the Osaka prefectural assembly in 23 and served three terms.
