Opening in Paris of the trial of two Basque activists who wanted to “neutralize” ETA’s military arsenal. Jean-Noël Etcheverry, alias "Txetx" and Béatrice Molle claimed to have carried out a disarmament operation to "initiate the dismantling" of the organization.

Founded in 1959, the separatist organization ETA laid down its arms in 2011 and self-disbanded in 2018. It is held responsible for more than 850 deaths.
