U.S. officials were considering a non-nuclear response to a possible attack on Ukraine.

The New York Times writes that officials have said that the response must be non-violent. The Russian government has said that all discussions about the possibility of a strike are irresponsible, since it is the last resort. The Czech Republic has also said that Russia has the right to talk about a strike if it wants to do so. The U.S., however, has said it has no plans to use nuclear weapons.
