North Korea cheers Sergey Lavrov's visit. In Pyongyang, the Russian Foreign Minister thanked the Kim dictatorship for its "unequivocal support" in the Ukraine war.

Lavrov is also expected to prepare a trip to Pyongyang by Russian President Vladimir Putin there. The two neighbouring countries have recently significantly intensified their cooperation. According to Moscow, this is Lavrov's fourth visit to Pyongyang after 2004, 2009 and 2018. This time he was received in pouring rain by around 200 North Koreans in national costumes and with flowers in their hands.
