Niger cancels the military cooperation agreement with the United States. The decision comes in the wake of a visit a few days ago by American officials, led by US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Vee.

The American delegation remained in Niamey for 3 days, during which it was unable to meet with General Omar Abdel Rahman Tiani, the leader of the military regime. Since last year, there have been about 1,100 American soldiers in Niger, where the American army operates from two bases.
