Netanyahu presented to the security cabinet a document of principles for the day after the Gaza war. The document also includes establishing a security zone in the Gaza Strip adjacent to Israeli towns.

It also stipulates that the border between Israel and Egypt will be closed and that other international agencies will be allowed to operate in the Strip. Netanyahu has previously said that he does not want the Palestinian Authority to take over the management of Gaza after the war. He has also said that the only force that can take control of Gaza is the Israeli army.
