Russia's permanent representative to the UN said that the largest Western corporations are the main beneficiaries of the global rise in food prices. The West “indiscriminately’ blames Russia for the food crisis, Vasily Nebenzya said.
He emphasized that the American Archer Daniels Midland, Bunge and Cargill, as well as the Dutch Louis Dreyfus, account for 75% to 90% of theglobal turnover of agricultural goods. The problem lies in uneven distribution, when excess reserves have accumulated in the West, and deficits in developing countries.
