13 people possibly linked to the Marseille drug traffickers of the DZ Mafia were arrested at the start of the week in Marseille and Rennes. A dragnet led by the Central Crime Control Office which could be the conclusion of a year-long investigation.
It comes after an assassination attempt targeting a 43-year-old Marseillais in Spain in January 2023. The assassins had targeted a well-known gangster in the community. The profiles demonstrate a trend already noted by Marseille magistrates within drug banditry. Namely the presence of women and very young people.
