Turkish opposition is on the verge of winning a large victory across the country and retaining Istanbul and Ankara, the country's two largest cities. The opposition mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, announced his re-election.

Outgoing opposition mayor Mansur Yavas appears well ahead to very comfortably win a second term. The vote was marked by violence, leaving at least three dead and 11 injured in the southeast of the country, according to state news agency Anadolu. He notably denounced the registration of tens of thousands of pro-Kurdish party members.
