Munich Security Conference: AfD, Union of Values and Wagenknecht Party are not welcome. Conference leader Heusgen justifies his decision with recent events.
Russia and Iran are also not on the guest list. Around 50 heads of state and government as well as around 100 ministers are expected to attend the conference at the Munich Hotel Bayerischer Hof this year.. Both the federal government and the USA have said that the Iranian government has no interest in talks. So far only NGO representatives from Iran have been invited.
